Interschool Tournaments
The Wide World of Chess

All Chess Ideas tournaments run under the umbrella of Chess Victoria and therefore as part of the Worldwide FIDE Organization.
Because of this, the school that wins the Victorian State Championship run by Chess Victoria, has the chance to compete in the National Chess Championship run by the Australian Chess Federation in which schools from all states and territories play.
In 2007 the National championship is in Queensland in December.
An Australian team (often made up of students who have played in this National championship) will then compete overseas in the World Junior Championships. One of our directors IGM Darryl Johansen frequently accompanies this team as coach and mentor. In 2006 they played in Tbilisi Georgia and in 2007 in Turkey.
